Patient care, professional education and a commitment to continuing our work.
Our work on the corneal transplantation project at Mouassat Hospital dates back to 1998.
Prof Akram Anbari Foundation’s humanitarian work combines eye care for patients with professional education. Our completed campaigns have included corneal transplantation operations provided free of charge, lectures and practical wet-lab training for ophthalmologists.
We are committed to continuing this work and expanding access to essential eye care.

Enquire about campaignsWe welcome enquiries from ophthalmologists, healthcare professionals and organisations interested in supporting campaigns and training. Tell us your area of expertise, how you would like to help and your availability.
Enquire about volunteeringThe Foundation organises campaigns independently and, on selected campaigns, works with professional societies, international organisations, local supporting companies, hospitals and public institutions. The participating organisations and their roles vary by campaign.
Our collaboration with the Humanitarian Relief Foundation began in 1998.
Since 2007, we have worked with the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and the International Society of Refractive Surgery (ISRS). Through this collaboration, we have made educational services from both organisations available free of charge to all ophthalmologists in Syria.
